TIP A FRIEND

Luke and I celebrated our wedding day surrounded by 70 of our closest family and friends. It was so special for us to be able to get married at Luke's family business, Paronella Park, which is a place of so many happy memories for us, and a gorgeous place to get married.

We had people fly in from all around Australia to attend, including one surprise guest we were very happy to see. We had a large wedding party (with me having 4 sisters it was never going to be small!) but that was exactly the way we wanted it, and all of our bridal party performed their duties beautifully. The ceremony was romantic but casual, and there were a few laughs during the proceedings, especially when then groom gulped as the celebrant asked if he would take responsibility of me from my father! Everybody kept asking me if I was nervous before I walked down the aisle, but I was not nervous at all - I knew that I was making the best decision of my life and marrying not only my best friend, but the love of my life. I also had my Dad there keeping me calm!

With a reception following at Castaways Mission Beach, a change of wedding gown for the bride, a very unique wedding cake, fabulous speeches, and almost every guest staying on to party until the very end of the reception (and then going on to keep partying at a club down the road!), our wedding was exactly the fun sort of party we wanted and needed after the stress of planning
the wedding.  Everything on our wedding day went perfectly, and there is not a thing that we would change."

Derek from Wedding Eye Photography was fabulous. He was with us from 10.00am in the morning at the hairdressers, and stayed with us until the very end of the reception, and not once did I see his energy levels drop. His passion and determination to get us the very best wedding photos was obvious, and so appreciated. With such a large wedding party - 14 people in total - it would have been a difficult task, but Derek handled it with complete professionalism. And the results for themselves - our wedding photos are gorgeous, and we will treasure them forever. The only problem is that all the photos are so good, it is impossible to choose a favourite!

Thanks Derek.

It’s a surreal moment when you wake up the morning of your wedding day. All that planning… all that waiting… all that stressing… and the day is here. You have to take a moment to yourself, just to centre yourself and think about the people that you love.

I remember how much love I could feel that day, as all of our family gathered there to share this moment with us. As I pulled into our ceremony and looked at all those faces smiling and crying, I knew today would be the last day that I would ever feel my heart break for a man that I loved… my father. He was always been there for me, and when I arrived that day, he was there for me again… doing what every father does on his daughter’s wedding day… crying. When I saw my mother and took my father’s arm, I have never felt so proud or so strongly about the path that I was about to partake. I can truly say on my wedding day, I knew that Aaron was the one, he was the icing on my cake, he was the jack-o-lantern to my Halloween and I love him with all my heart.

Needless to say Aaron and I had a very non traditional wedding. It’s hard to find a photographer when your opening line is; ‘We are having a wedding based on Tattoos and Halloween. Are you interested?’ Just when we thought that we had exhausted all our resources Derek came to our rescue. After having being disappointed so many times by other photographers, Weddingeye was a breath of fresh air. Nothing was too much trouble for Derek. There was never a lull in his creativity, never a dull moment in his humour. We never felt out of place or like we couldn’t speak up, because Derek was always wanted our opinion. When I look at our wedding photos, there are no stiff moments, no uncomfortable photos, because Derek made sure that we were always having fun, he created our photos around us and our personalities. And isn’t that what your wedding photos should show? Who you are and all the quirky things you get up to?

Thank you Derek for making our day so fun and creating photos that we will never forget. We will be forever recommending you to our friends, so you can help make their day as special as you made ours.
